ANNA HABRUK
Die Konzertpianistin, Komponistin und Sound-Designerin Anna Habruk (*2001, Ukraine) ist von September bis November 2022 als dreimonatige Langzeitresidentin in St. Georgen im Schwarzwald zu Gast. Ihre Künstlerinnenresidenz findet in Kooperation mit dem legendären MPS-Studio Villingen statt. Während sie im MPS-Studio die Möglichkeit hat, am Bösendorfer Imperial, einem der größten Konzertflügel überhaupt, ihre Arbeit als Pianistin fortzusetzen, verfolgt sie im Kunstverein Global Forest ihre experimentelleren Projekte und arbeitet an einer kinematografisch-akustischen Reise in und um St. Georgen. Ihre Residenz wird im November mit zwei Konzerten, im MPS-Studio und im Kunstverein Global Forest, abgeschlossen werden.
Anna Habruk absolvierte von 2016-2020 das "College of Music" in Charkiw bevor sie an der Nationalen Musikakademie der Ukraine "Peter Tschaukowski" (NMAU) in Kiew Piano mit Schwerpunkt Klassische Musik zu studieren begann. Ihr Repertoire reicht dabei vom Barock bis hinein in die Moderne. Seit 2021 experimentierte sie auch mit elektronischer Musik/Sound Design, komponierte eigenen Stücke und arbeitet dazu v.a. mit dem Programm Ableton. Ferner beschäftigt sie sich mit der Vertonung visueller Kunst und erforscht dabei die Synthese verschiedener Gattungen. Zwei Beispiele ihrer freien Kunst sind die beiden Projekte "UA lo-fi" (2022) und "Ukraine on Fire" (2022). Beide verortet Anna Habruk im Bereich der Neoklassik. Sie verknüpft in ihrer Musik sowohl folkloristische elemente ihrer Heimat mit Instrumenten der klassischen Musik und progressiven elektronischen Klängen. Anna Habruk engagiert sich darüber hinaus in soziokulturellen Projekten. Sie beschäftigt sich mit Fragen kultureller Identität und Kulturförderung. Aktuell versteht sie sich als Multiplikatorin für ukrainische Kultur im Ausland.
Die Vermittlungsplattform für Kulturschaffende des Goethe-Instituts in Kooperation mit der internationalen NGO Artists at Risk ist Teil eines umfassenden Maßnahmepakets für welches das Auswärtige Amt Mittel aus dem Ergänzungshaushalt 2022 zur Abmilderung der Folgen des russischen Angriffskrieges gegen die Ukraine bereitstellt.
Die Künstlerresidenz von Anna Habruk wird durch die großzügige Unterstützung des Goethe Instituts, der Stadt St. Georgen und dem Regierungspräsidium Freiburg ermöglicht.

Concert pianist, composer, and sound designer Anna Habruk (*2001, Ukraine) will be a three-month resident in St. Georgen/Black Forest from September to November 2022. Her artist residency will take place in cooperation with the legendary MPS studio in Villingen. While at the MPS studio she will have the opportunity to continue her work as a pianist on the Bösendorfer Imperial, one of the largest concert pianos ever made, she will pursue her more experimental projects at the Kunstverein and work on a cinematographic, though acoustic journey in and around St. Georgen. Her residency will conclude in November with two concerts, at the MPS Studio and the Global Forest Art Association.
Anna Habruk graduated from the "College of Music" in Kharkiv from 2016-2020 before she began studying piano at the National Music Academy of Ukraine "Peter Tchaikovsky" (NMAU) in Kyiv with a focus on classical music. Her repertoire ranges from Baroque to Modernism. Since 2021 she has also been experimenting with electronic music/sound design, composing her own pieces, and setting visual art to music by researching the synthesis of different art forms. Therefore, she mainly works with Ableton Live. Two examples of her free art and compositions are the project "UA lo-fi" (2022) and "Ukraine on Fire" (2022). Anna Habruk assigns both to the Neoclassic style. She combines folkloristic elements from her homeland with instruments of classical forms and traditions, adding progressive electronic sounds. Anna Habruk is also involved in sociocultural projects. She deals with questions of cultural identity and cultural promotion. Currently, she sees herself as a multiplier for Ukrainian culture abroad.
The Goethe-Institut's matching platform for cultural professionals in cooperation with the international NGO Artists at Risk is part of a comprehensive package of measures for which the Federal Foreign Office is providing funds from the 2022 supplementary budget to mitigate the consequences of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.
The residency is generously funded by Goethe Institut, Stadt St. Georgen, and Regierungspräsidium Freiburg.
