Dinah Bird und Jean-Philippe Renoult sind Ton- und Radiokünstler mit Sitz in Paris. Sie interpretieren frühe Kommunikationstechnologien wie Radiowellen, Tonbandgeräte, Antennen, Transistoren, Grammophone und Unterseekabel und geben ihnen eine neue Bestimmung – dabei erforschen sie deren materielle Geschichte und ihre zeitgenössische Bedeutung. Sie arbeiten sowohl unabhängig voneinander als auch gemeinsam und beschäftigen sich mit den ästhetischen, materiellen und sozialen Aspekten der Klangwiedergabe durch Radiokunst, elektroakustische Kompositionen, Fotografien, Klanginstallationen und Live-Performances.
Im Oktober 2025 erhielt Dinah Bird das Karl-Sczuka-Forschungsstipendium für ihre Arbeit zu Schellack und ihre laufenden Forschungen zur Materialität von Klang.

Dinah Bird and Jean-Philippe Renoult are sound and radio artists based in Paris. They re-imagine and repurpose early communication technologies such as radio waves, tape recorders, antennas, transistors, gramophones, and undersea cables – exploring their material histories and contemporary resonances. Working both independently and together, they are interested in exploring the aesthetic, material and social aspects of sound reproduction through radio art, electroacoustic compositions, photographs, sound installations and live performances.
In October 2025 Dinah Bird was awarded the Karl Sczuka research scholarship for her work on shellac and ongoing research into the materiality of sound.
